InterPlay: Loose Minds in a Box was honored as a national semi-finalist for the 2006 Peoria Prize for Creativity.

InterPlay: Nel Tempo di Sogno was selected as 2007 Artys Staff Award for Best Real-time Distributed Surrealistic Cinema.

The Carnivale is a place of dreams, where the imagination can run wild. Where fortunes are told and the unique is normal. Living in the Carnivale is living in the imagination, a place of fantasy where the skills of the entertainers unlock the mysterious.

InterPlay: Carnivale directed by Jimmy and Beth Miklavcic, is an examination of the mystery of the performing soul through an amalgamation of a variety of celebratory performance mediums such as circus, Mardi Gras, carnival, amusement park, fair and arcade. This live, distributed, real-time, surrealist, cinematic performance will unfold as if walking into a memory of by-gone circuses, carnivals, parks and fairs. The InterPlay begins as if frozen in time, then the Carnivale awakens, the parade begins.
Utah characters include Madame Flambe - The Bearded Woman (Ryan Lucas), Soliloquy -The Sword Fighting Harlequin Soldier (Hanelle Miklavcic); Mystique Francesca Futura - The Gypsy Fortune Teller (Elizabeth A. Miklavcic); Raqs Sharqi - The Belly Dancer (Maia Taylor) and Ballistrina Heilum - The Balloon Peddler (Priscilla Steed). They will come alive in a performance with virtual and real characters on the screen that depicts a three-ring circus. Mr. Barney Carnacle -The Ring Master played by Travis Eberhard will direct the attention to different aspects of the live and screen action.

The animated multi-layered cinematic display created by Mike Daley of Cardiff University, Wales will emulate various amusement park rides such as a carousel. Virtual puppets created by Marla Schweppe and Joe Geigel of Rochester Institute of Technology, New York will perform and delight. Composer Joe Reitzer of TRECC in West Chicago, IL will weave his music through the Carnivale imagery.
Beth Miklavcic has written and framed the performance structure of the InterPlay; and she will contribute photography and screen animations to the project. Jimmy Miklavcic will conduct the images through live digital mixing and processing of the transmitted video streams. The performance will occur simultaneously in West Chicago, IL; Salt Lake City, UT, Rochester, NY and Cardiff, Wales UK over Internet 2.

InterPlay: Carnivale will premiere at the Intermountain Network and Scientific Computation Center (INSCC) Auditorium on the campus of the University of Utah. Be a part of the studio audience and view the full effect of the live performances, see the full screen display
