There is a gravestone at the Amache cemetery inscribed "Unknown Evacuee." How could that be possible when every internee had a number and was listed in a directory and pinpointed on a map in a barrack room? Every block had a block administrator who tracked people and events. This is my tribute to these unknown women. Rest in Peace.

I have given this unknown evacuee the status of a samurai. He can choose to live by sacred Mount Fuji, in a regal palace, a Buddhist temple, of a farmhouse with rice paddies and a bamboo grove. The Shinto gate is decorated with a fragment from Goeika (100 poems). Pilgrims can chant these as they walk from temple to temple.
