Duel*Ality 1.0 Opening
This opening movie was created by Elizabeth Miklavcic. She used stop frame animation techniques, drawing each individual jpeg image, then adding one new element to each susequent image. She then imported those image files into Final Cut. The scientific images that begin around the 3 minute point in the movie, were assembled from a public domain resource, processed, resized and loaded individually then edited with different techniques in the Final Cut time-line. Creating this movie took two months. The music, created by Jimmy Miklavcic, for the opening scene played simultaneously, but was not embedded into the movie. Duel*Ality 1.0 explored the many sides of the two characters Duel (Jimmy Miklavcic), and Ality (Elizabeth Miklavcic). This telematic work focused on two people and the way this duo encounters and functions in this technological world. It, also, looked at the relationship of man and woman, human and computer, software and hardware, the association of live creativity and projected elements and the connection between creative elements and how the audience perceives them.
