Description
Elizabeth Miklavcic for her Master's Thesis Concert, Secrets Leaking, held January 29-30, 1988, choreographed Tally Ho. The concert was held in the 208 Theatre in the "old" dance building on the University of Utah campus. This concert was video taped with two VHS cameras and mixed live by Modern Dance Department Chair Jacqueline Clifford, the first time live mixing of a performance was attempted at the Modern Dance Department. In 1988 recording video, especially in low light, was extremely difficult. Fortunately most of this dance is visible, since the lighting was brighter than in some of the other concert dances.

Tally Ho was a light-hearted look at the world of the "rich and famous." At that point-in-time, the British Royal family was very turbulent and was constantly in the tabloids. This made them prime subject matter for Tally Ho. The musical piece, Dutiful Ducks by Charles Amirkhanian was the perfect sound score for this light and humorous dance. Although, if this dance was choreographed in current times, a different set of characters would be the focus. As times change the cast of characters evolve, but the foibles of the rich and famous never seem to end.
