Description
Choreographing a dance, and also performing in that dance is a difficult thing, since it is hard to have the outside perspective of observance. Thankfully, each rehearsal was videotaped, so that Elizabeth could to take a look at how the piece was progressing. The structure of the dance was in place by the time of this recording. There are stunning moments in this dance including the opening with the female figure draped in black material. Additionally, the three figures connected through the manipulation of the cloth, which represented the shroud of religious doctrine. Purposefully created to provoke, there are many uncomfortable moments in Foibles of Faith as well.

The timing between the performers and the music was still way off. The dancers had a tendency to rush through the purposefully designed slow and resistant movement, a quality created to communicate the feeling that the figures were fighting to keep going amidst the barrier of uncomfortable religious experiences. Elizabeth can be heard calling out timing while being entangled, and drug around in the material. Continued rehearsals cleaned up the timing before the performance of On The Gutting Ledge.

Elizabeth and Jimmy's three year old daughter, Hanelle, was at the studio as she was most days, and decided to do a little dance in the middle of the rehearsal. She can also be heard coughing a bit, and at the very end runs to her Mother saying, "Mommy my ear is sore." She must have had a cold that day.
