Another Language Performing Arts Company Presents:
What? A Choreographic Evolution: DVD-ROM

Another Language Performing Arts Company will present a DVD-ROM demonstration focusing on the ten year history of a dance titled What? Choreographed by Beth Miklavcic with original sound score by Jimmy Miklavcic. The demonstration will take place on Friday, September 12 at 7:00pm, at the INSCC Building Auditorium (Room 110)on the University of Utah Campus. There will be a thirty minute demonstrationwith a discussion following. Light refreshments will be served after the discussion.Admission is free and a free What?: A Choreographic Evolution DVD will be given to those who attend the presentation.

What? was originally created in 1984, and then performed in the Another Language company repertoire, on and off, for ten years. Not only does the DVD show different versions of the dance, it emphasizes the needs of a smaller performance company. In a smaller company adjustments have to be made, because in a concert line up company members must perform in multiple dances. The completion of What? DVD-ROM is a culmination of three and a half years of work and has been created as a historical and educational tool for Utah teachers, as well as, for those who are interested in historical documentation of the arts.

Beth and Jimmy Miklavcic founded Another Language in 1985. The company incorporates the technology of the Internet using the creative process in dance, music, theater, poetry, video, and computer graphics. Sponsors include the Salt Lake City Arts Council, Utah Arts Council, the Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts and Parks (ZAP) Program and its contributing members.

For those who cannot attend the presentation, the DVD is available free to educators who request it as long as supplies last. The cost of the DVD to the general public is $25.00. If you are interested in more information please call and leave a message at the Another Language office (801) 531-9419, e-mail Beth Miklavcic at info(at)anotherlanguage.org.
