Description
Co-created by Guni, Christopher, Elizabeth, and Jimmy, parts of each duet were spliced together for the reprise, tying the two dances together in a denouement. Since the company members chose not to use any music for this dance, it was imperative to work on the timing from whom they were taking the movement cues at different moments in this short conclusion of the larger work In Some Language.

This rehearsal video was probably recorded a week or so before technical rehearsals began. Though the structure was solid by this point, timing and spacing still needed to be refined before the performance. The performance version of Reprise is executed very well with precise movement timing between the four dancers.

The Another Language Studio was in an old warehouse that had been converted to artist studios and loft spaces called Artspace. Another Language, Inc. was responsible for that section of the bay which consisted of this studio in the video, a large basement below, and two apartments above. There was no insulation between the upstairs floor and the studio ceiling, so every sound could be heard. In this recording, a renter in the front apartment is walking around in noisy heels during this run-through.

There was still so much to do before the performance. The lighting system from the old dance building was sold to Another Language from the University of Utah Modern Dance Department, which was in the process of moving into their newly built facility. This old lighting system was still being installed into the Another Language Studio, with most of the work being done by Jimmy. Also, the four company members were up until 1am in the morning for several evenings building light cans for the theatrical ceiling lighting. It was a big push, but, finally, by the day of the first performance, it all came together.
