Recovery Rehearsal (1989)
|
Choreographer: Gunild Pak Music: (Video Credits) Dancers: Gunild Pak Location: Another Language Studio, 345 West Pierpont Ave., Salt Lake City, Utah Length: 4:57 minutes |
Description
This was the first time Gunild Pak showed her solo, in development, to the rest of the Company. Her dance is a deeply personal expression, and it was an emotional experience to share the solo. The flinging movements are filled with frustration and the choreography juxtaposes this hurling with stillness, moving between the extremes of anger and control. Interpreted as moving between the extremes of anger and control. The anger bursts forth again, creating a cyclic reality that many survivors experience as they work to heal from trauma. |
