Description
Guest choreographer, Rosalind Newmark, choreographed this lighthearted trio on company members Jeannine Chan, Spencer John Powell, and Travis Rasmussen. The inventive costumes were created by Rosalind Newmark and painted by Edie Roberson. |
Growing up in eastern Kansas, I spent a good deal of time pedaling on dirt roads around Lawrence. I watched and listened to many a Meadowlark. I find them absolutely enchanting, the combination of beautiful song, plumage, and the pastoral locations where they're found left an indelible imprint. Salsa dance provides an equally showy display of movement, color and courtship. Together, the two offer an unlikely, and somewhat quirky duo. - Rosalind Newmark |
Rosalind's wonderful energy and enthusiasm for all things ART was a pleasure for the company to work with, and a great note in which to conclude the guest choreographer program. Society In A Nutshell was the company's featured and final concert at Another Language Performance Studio, before moving into the Capitol Theater for rehearsals in 1995. |
