Growing up in eastern Kansas, I spent a good deal of time pedaling on dirt roads around Lawrence. I watched and listened to many a Meadowlark. I find them absolutely enchanting, the combination of beautiful song, plumage, and the pastoral locations where they're found left an indelible imprint. Salsa dance provides an equally showy display of movement, color and courtship.
