Brian Thayne

Long known for his watercolors, Brian Thayne is now gaining quite a reputation for his bold and colorful oils as well. A graduate of Brigham Young University, Brian has traveled the world in search of meaningful subject matter. Chosen locales include parts of Europe, Mexico, Trinidad as well as the mountains and deserts of the Great American West.

"...Of the Utah artists, Brian Thayne is the most versatile watercolourist. More than any other medium there is a tendency for watercolourists to find a niche and stick with it exclusively, but Brian has challenged himself with a variety of subjects and techniques. His work is decisive and controlled, very much like Clark Hullings. His watercolors are memorable for their insightful glimpses into human nature and genre..." - Vern G. Swanson, Director of Springville Museum of Art
