| As winter drifted into spring, Lambourne celebrated the changing of the seasons and the arrival of human visitors. “Presto! The island is changed. This might be the work of an enchanter’s wand. For many days mankind and I have been strangers, but, lo! society has come to my door. This rock once so desert has become a hive. The gloomy season is ended. I am lost in the news of the world.
