Cinematic Display Kinetics Exerpts This movie excerpt was edited from the thirty-minute performance of the 2006 InterPlay: Dancing on the Banks of Packet Creek project. Elizabeth and Jimmy Miklavcic began exploring the concept that the Cinematic Display was an active part of the overall performance dynamics and not just an immobile passive screen. These display kinetics were inputted and manipulated by Sam Liston the Access Grid Display Node Operator. This movie is a part of Elizabeth Miklavcic's Mind Waves Power Point presentation. |

Mind Waves Case Study -
Performing a work within a work for InterPlay: Dancing on the Banks of Packet Creek This paper explores the process of developing a performance work for the distributed real-time surrealistic cinematic style in the collaborative telematic video genre. The steps for the development of a performance work inside of a larger collaborative work involving multiple sites are explained. This paper explores the symbolism of movement choices in the choreographic scene structure, use of sets, props, cameras and other technical equipment, as well as, the additional layer of using the Access Grid system to send video streams of the performance work over Internet 2 for a world-wide audience.
